The House Energy Subcmte. on Communications and Technology began an "aggressive review" of cybersecurity policies as outlined by Chairman Greg Walden (R-OR) Wednesday morning.

The discussion, with various business leaders, revolved around the challenges concerning cyber security threats and the private sector.  They focused heavily on cyber threats to small businesses, communications companies and smart/mobile technology.   Other topics included federal legislation with cyber security, the FCC’s role and cyber security models in other countries like Australia and Germany. 

Witnesses at today's hearing, including security experts and representatives from private companies, also described steps they are taking to protect their information networks from cyber attacks.
